Project Features

MiC Office

Faced with challenges in the construction industry over the next decade and beyond, the Development Bureau in 2018 formulated Construction 2.0 as the platform for change. This rests on three key pillars: Innovation, Professionalism and Revitalisation. The use of Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) is one of the initiatives under Innovation, which aims at driving forward productivity, efficiency and enhanced project delivery outcomes.

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) takes the MiC initiative forward to construct multi-storey site accommodation for the resident site staff (RSS) andcontractors within a constrained site, under the Main Works Stage 1 of the project. As the site accommodation will be the office for staff over an extended period, the design team integrated sustainability in the building design. Serene colour patterns with simple and neat layout add a humantouch to the office environment. The panoramic view outside the office is maximised by rearranging aconventional vertical rectangular window into a wide horizontal strip, providing an unprecedentedexperience for users of the MiC office.

Digital Works Supervision System (DWSS)

This Project has adopted the Digital Works Supervision System (DWSS), which is a work-flow enabled system and consists of the following five modules to facilitate the digital processing of the required forms and records:

  • Request for Inspection/Survey Check (RISC) Form
  • Site Diary /Site Record Book
  • Site Safety Inspection Record
  • Cleansing Inspection Checklist
  • Labour Return Record

Blockchain Centralised Platform

Slide Show

Initiated by the project team in 2020, it is the first sewage project in Hong Kong to apply blockchain technology for construction data exchange. This Blockchain Platform has been fully functional in late 2022, playing a key part of our promising digital transformation strategy, holding all the necessary contract documents, records, site instructions and sensitive financial information such as subcontracts, payments to subcontractors and etc., within a secured storage that best suits the RQS team to carry out their day-to-day tasks pertained to contract administration and financial management.
